Best Bible Verses For Struggling Moms

** These verses are all from the NIV translation.

1. For The Burdened Mom

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30

Sometimes the weight of motherhood can be crippling. Remember that we can take upon HIS yoke, which is light. We don’t have to carry our burdens alone!

2. For The Overwhelmed Mom

“When my spirit grows faint within me, it is you who watch over my way. In the path where I walk people have hidden a snare for me.” Psalm 142:3

The pressures of raising godly kids and balancing our homes can be super overwhelming. God watches over us and sets a path before us when we feel overwhelmed!

The NLT version also reads, “When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn. Wherever I go, my enemies have set traps for me.”

3. For The Mom Who Feels Offended

“Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times a day, and returns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ forgive him.” Luke 17:3

Whether it’s intentional or unintentional, it’s so easy to grab and hold onto offenses. But God calls us to forgive one another. Here is a great post on how to overcome offense in your life, according to God’s Word!

4. For The Mom Feeling Hopeless

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Remember, God always has a plan and purpose for your life! He is the one who gives us hope daily and holds our future in his hands.

5. For The Lonely Mom

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Motherhood can be lonely sometimes. We feel like we are in the trenches of raising little people, and crave adult interaction. But God will never leave or forsake you! HE is the one we can always count on to be there.

6. For The Angry Mom

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” James 1:19-20

This one speaks to me on a very personal level. God desires for us to be slow to anger, and can give us His spirit on calm and peace, even in frustrating situations.

7. For The Weary/Tired Mom

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:30-31

These verses are so encouraging and refreshing! We all grow tired and weary, but when we place our hope in God and not in this world, He will renew our strength.

We aren’t running out of our own strength, but His. Amen!!

8. For The Mom Who Needs Courage

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Fear can become a huge cloud over our lives. But we can take heart that God is always with us! There is no need to be afraid when the God of the universe is for us.

9. For The Mom Who Needs Comfort

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit.” Psalm 34:17-18

When we cry out to God, we can take comfort in the fact that He is near to us. Call on His name, and rest in His arms when you feel your heart is breaking.

10. For The Anxious Mom

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Anxiety is something that is all too real, and most moms can relate to. The Bible says we can place our anxiety, cares, and worries ON Him. We don’t have to carry these things with us because it’s already been defeated at the Cross! 🙌🏻

11. For The Apathetic Mom

“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” Psalm 51:12

When we are feeling apathetic, and going through the motions and mundane routine of mom life… we can ask God to restore to His joy and for a willing Spirit to sustain us!

12. For The Guilt-ridden Mom

“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17

Mom guilt is SO real. It’s something I personally struggle with. But God didn’t send Jesus to condemn us, but to save us. We can rejoice in the fact that He defeated that guilt on the Cross, and we have new life through Him!

13. For The Mom Who Needs Peace

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15

We could all use a little peace in the midst of our daily chaos, am I right? Ask God to let His peace rule in your hearts, and for a thankful spirit!

14. For The Mom Who Needs Joy

“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

This verse is the perfect one to end with. What power there is in the living, breathing, Word of God! He is our mighty warrior who saves and delights in us. He loves us and we can have joy through Him! Hallelujah!
